Part I: Literature

Literature [lit-er-uh-cher,-choor, li-truh-]
Writings in which expression and form, in connection with ideas of permanent and universal interest, are characteristic or essential features, as poetry, novels, history, biography, and essays.

What really is Literature...and does it matter? I think that literature and language all go together to make a mass of information. The writing of ideas and putting them in sync with the form or structure of your writing. I think that is has a lot to do with all of how one comprehends literature and how it is used. Weather it is used to persuade, inform, or entertain. Theory of mind is a critical tool in reading and understanding literature. Basically it is mind-reading, entering the creative imagination of another perspective through their thoughts that they put on paper. It is also a necessity for human communication.

"In literature as in love we are astounded by what is chosen by others."
-Andre Maurois
